Mountain Homes and Rentals
Why Mountain Properties Need a Plan
Teller County sits high, cold and surrounded by forest. In Divide, Cripple Creek, Victor, Florissant, Green Mountain Falls and Cascade, the first frost can come in September, and mice, chipmunks and squirrels start looking for shelter right away. Log siding, crawl spaces, decks and attached garages give them lots of ways in.
Cabins and short-term rentals have it the hardest. When a home sits empty for a week or a month, nobody is there to notice the first droppings in a kitchen drawer or the chewed insulation in a crawl space. By the time the next guest arrives, the problem has grown, and a single review about mice can cost far more than the fix.
We provide rodent control and general pest control for full-time homes, weekend cabins, short-term rentals and small businesses across Teller County. We're in the area every week, and our Woodland Park mouse control customers are just down the road. We're running a winter promo right now, so text us for today's price.

The Teller County Pest Year
September to March: Mouse season starts early at this elevation. Homes near open forest and meadows see it first.
Fall and early spring: Cluster flies gather on sunny walls and windows, especially on log homes.
June to August: A short, busy summer for wasps, yellow jackets and spiders around decks and porches.
Before ski and holiday season: The best time for rental owners to get a plan in place before guests arrive.
Before We Arrive
Simple Steps for Cabins and Rentals
Before you close up a cabin or a rental between stays, clear out open food from the pantry, take out the trash, and store paper goods and linens in sealed bins. Mice nest in whatever is soft and easy to reach.
Check the bottom seal on the garage door, screens on crawl space and attic vents, and gaps where pipes and wires enter the house. Keep firewood stacked away from the walls and off the ground, and trim branches back from the roofline so squirrels can't hop on.
Give your cleaner or property manager a simple job: note any droppings, chewed items or dead insects after each turnover. If they see something, text us at (719) 465-4818 and we'll set up a plan that keeps working while the place is empty. If you clean up droppings yourself, wet them down first and wear gloves.
