Rural El Paso County
Pest Control Built for Acreage
Life out past Falcon looks different from the city, and so do the pest problems. In Calhan, Ellicott, Ramah, Yoder and the ranchettes in between, homes sit on acreage with barns, shops, sheds, chicken coops and stored equipment. Every one of those buildings is a place for mice to nest when the wind picks up and the temperature drops.
Most of the calls we get from the rural east side start with mice in the house, the garage or the shop. Field mice and deer mice move from the grass toward any building with warmth and food, and feed, seed and pet food stored in outbuildings make it easy. Voles tear up lawns and gardens under the snow, and in late summer grasshoppers can strip a garden in days.
We handle rodent control and general pest control for homes, outbuildings and small farms across eastern El Paso County. We're on our east-side route every week, so you don't have to wait for someone to make a special trip out. We're running a winter promo right now, so text us for today's price.

The Rural East Side Pest Year
October to March: Mouse season. Wind and cold push mice from the open grass into homes and every outbuilding with feed or shelter.
March to May: Snow melt shows the vole runways in lawns and pastures. Ants wake up along foundations.
June to September: Wasps build in sheds and eaves, and grasshoppers peak in dry years.
September: The best time to set a rodent plan before the first hard freeze.
Before We Arrive
Simple Steps for Acreage Owners
Keep livestock feed, chicken feed, bird seed and pet food in sealed metal bins, both in the barn and in the garage. Sweep up spilled grain, and don't leave feed in open bags overnight. Food sitting out is the biggest reason mice stick around an outbuilding.
Stack firewood, lumber and old equipment away from the house, and keep tall grass and weeds mowed back from the foundation. Park vehicles and campers you don't drive often away from tall grass, and pop the hood now and then. Mice love to nest in engine bays and chew wires over the winter.
Close gaps around pipes, garage doors and siding, and check door sweeps on the shop and house. When you spot droppings, wet them down before cleaning, wear gloves and air out closed buildings first. Then text us at (719) 465-4818 and we'll get you on the next east-side route.
